On September 12th, 2013 We Belong Together organized over 100 women from across the country to participate in an act of civil disobedience in front of Congress. Together, we lifted up the need for immigration reform that treats women fairly, and showed that the sense of urgency is shared by millions, across lines of race, ethnicity, age and geography. We especially want to recognize the tremendous courage of the non-citizen women who took the principled and moving decision to risk everything to demand the changes that this country so desperately needs.
